LJUBLJANA CASTLE – The Ljubljana Castle is a must see when visiting the Slovenian capital. From the castle viewing tower you will have the best aerial view of the city and can see for miles in all directions. There is a funicular that takes you from the city center to the top of the castle. Once at the castle you can visit one of the oldest parts of the medieval construction, St. George’s Chapel, which is decorated with frescos from the 15th century. There is a permanent exhibition on Slovenian history, displays of 300 million-year-old fossils, a 12 minute virtual tour, a cafe, several great restaurants (including Gostilna Na Gradu) and even a guesthouse.
