ROG FACTORY – This industrial behemoth on the banks of the Ljubljanica river churned out the iconic Communist-era Rog bikes from 1951 until the break up of Yugoslavia, when the business went bust. These days the factory building is in a pretty sorry state of repair, but that hasn’t stopped several artists setting up their workshops here and giving full reign to their artistic visions. If you’re lucky you can pop your head in and visit, or else keep your ears and eyes peeled for one of their open days. The factory is also home to a vast skate park, a dance studio and various other participant friendly facilities, but opening hours are ad hoc to say the least, so you’ll need a slice of luck or some local help to get involved.
